The unemployment in South Africa

The unemployment rate is very high in South Africa. It is badly affecting youth and older generation. There is no solution to this issue as yet. Everyone is hoping that one day something is going to change and job opportunities will be available for everyone. But that is not going to happen anytime soon. Employers are also cutting employee costs but laying off some employees they consider redundant. South Africans need to start thinking of ways they can start their own businesses and help to create more job opportunities for their fellow citizens.

The short story about NFTs.

Graduate

Youth go to higher education institution with hope that immediately after graduation they will land a job. That is not true in the real world. Finding entry level job, internship or learnership is not easy at all. To get a job you need to be experienced and be fully qualified to do it. Even entry level jobs need experience due to the higher demand for jobs and less supply of jobs by employers. Companies are looking for individuals who will hit the ground running. This is not helping to reduce unemployment when there are no trainings for new entrants. Small businesses may compromise and higher new entrants because experienced might be expensive for them. Big corporates need skilled labour and they can afford to carry the employee costs and have the work done.

Youth needs to equip themselves to remain relevant and be employable.
