Exchanges like Binance and Luno start to believe in them. They then get listed on other exchanges. This helps with increasing demand against existing supply of coins or tokens. Demand then will increase prices as the market capital increases. Also the liquidity improves over time.
Where do I check new cryptos?
Coinmarketplace and Coingecko are the place where all assets are listed. The most popular one is Coinmarketplace. In these marketplaces, you can see the performance of each listed asset. But some coins or tokens do not have all data available to the public. They might have Diluted Market Capital which does not help investors. New coins and tokens are the highest risk as some are created by fraudsters. They normal manipulate the growth percentage so they will attract unaware investors. As soon as they hop onboard. The coin will disappear. You must do your research before you invest.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are the most popular first coins to change the face of the market. Ethereum has many crypto assets build on their network. If you invested in these coins when they were introduced. You are amongst the richest today provided you had enough coins.
